With your roof, it can be easy to fall into the ‘out of sight, out of mind’ mentality and not really consider ways in which you should be maintaining it. This is however, not a good idea, because if you keep up with regular maintenance of your roof, it could save you big bucks in the future, whilst also extending the life of your roofing material.

Maintenance Tasks for Your Roof

1. Removal of Algae and Moss- this is not only an unsightly problem but it could create gaps in roof tiles which could lead to leaking

2. Clearing of Gutters/Drains- as debris such as sticks, leaves and other items collect in a guttering system they can build up and get quite heavy or create clogs which will create bigger problems

3. Inspect Regularly- it is a good idea to visually inspect your roof from the ground at least twice a year to look for any potential issues and once every two years, it is wise to have a closer inspection

These three maintenance tasks will help you mitigate or catch early signs of problems with your roofing material and help extend the life of your roof.
