Wherever you are in the world, leaves are always a big problem to roofs and guttering systems. It never seizes to amaze homeowners the damage that a small number of leaves can do, so make sure your roof is rid of leaves in the Autumn and winter moths. A clogged up gutter system can cause water to travel to parts of the roof where it shouldn’t go, resulting in long-term and often costly damage. It doesn’t matter what your roofing system is leaves can cause problems, and it can be a good idea to use a ladder to access your roof and give it a clean up every few weeks. Flat roofs can invite many leaves if there’s a tree above, and when wet and damp they don’t tend to move freely, meaning they can get lodged on your roof. Be sure to clear your roof when the weather turns a little bit chilly.
